An assignment had just been done with Mela
In today's Communication Technology Development Class,
we tried to use twitpic

We had to interview one of the lecturers in our beloved university.
At first, we tried to find our own department's lecturers to be interviewed
but unfortunately, we got preceded by other students
so then, we decided to find the lecturer from our neighbor's department, English Department.

We went to ILC's room and met Ma'am Flo.
We interviewed her for around 5 minutes.
and the bonus is, we had to speak in english.

From our interview, we found out that Ma'am Flo uses Nokia E63.
She's not the kind of person who follows trends.
That's why, she believes that Blackberry is no longer branded.
She agrees that Media Convergence brings simplicity to life,
especially in her work and social life.

She uses social networking, particularly Facebook,
to communicate with her friends and also her students,
it includes giving announcements, giving assignments, etc.
Sometimes, she uses her cellphone for updating her Facebook,
sending or receiving emails, and browsing.

Besides basic tools, like texting or calling,
she really utilizes the facilities in her cellphone.
She told us that her cellphone is really useful for her job as a lecturer.

After talking with her, we took her picture
and went back to media laboratory to upload her picture via twitpic.
We found some difficulties for sending the picture from my email.
But a few minutes later, we succeeded!!!
We were so happy and relieved that the picture got uploaded in my twitpic.
Here's the link.

:)

*this actually the same with what Mela's has in her blog.. We actually worked it together and I just want to show it in my Blog. So I just copy it and paste it in my blog and just change my name..

here is the link of Mela's blog if you want to see the real one.. Thanks.. :)

*the funny part is that my first twitpic is Ma'am Flo's picture, not mine.. Haha.. :D

QR Code

wow.. today's class was so quick...
And I learned about something today.. It's about QR Code.
QR Code is a code on papers, such as newspaper or posters, or else.. and we only need to take that code with our cellphone's camera and it will directly take us to the web.. but in order to do that,we need the QR reader on our cellphone and internet connected..
then we just put our cell in front of the code and voila we now on the websites..
we can read about the articles, or view the trailer (if it's a movie poster), and etc..

it was so cool at first.. and i think I'll use it more.. and it was so easy.. and i like it..

maybe I'll look forward to the other code..

Willing to show you guys the picture.. but unfortunately the internet connection is not that good.. so sorry guys.. But you can see it from google..

Social Media Success Story

Steve Jobs is a co-founder of apple. He has quite a complicated life story before becoming a famous person (judging it by myself, after read his simple biography). Born February 24, 1955, and well known for being the co-founder and chief executive officer of Apple. Jobs also previously served as chief executive of Pixar Animation Studios; he also became a member of the board of The Walt Disney Company in 2006, following the acquisition of Pixar by Disney. Born by Joanne Carole Schieble and his father Abdulfattah Jandali, then he adopted by Paul and Clara Jobs who named him Steven Paul. Then his foster parent adopted a daughter named Patti. His biological parent gave birth his sister name Mona Simpson who become a novelist.

He graduated from Cupertino Junior High School and Homestead High School in Cupertino, California. He went to Reed College but dropped out only in one semester. But he still was auditing classes at Reed like calligraphy. That’s why Jobs later stated, "If I had never dropped in on that single course in college, the Mac would have never had multiple typefaces or proportionally spaced fonts.

In autumn 1974, Jobs returned to California and took a job as technician at Atari, a manufacturer of popular video games, with the primary intent of saving money for a spiritual retreat to India. Then he traveled to India with his friend at Reed, Daniel Kottke –happened to be the first Apple employee–, in search of spiritual enlightenment. Then he came back as a Buddhist and experimented with psychedelics (like a meditation, and people thought that he was insane because he walked on snow with bare foot). But he said that it’s one of the important thing he had done in his life.

In 1976, in his 21, he created Apple Computer Co with his friend (Wozniak). And they named it as Apple I. Since that time, he kept inventing things until Apple III. But the most successful one was the Apple II. Steve Jobs lured John Sculley away from Pepsi-Cola to serve as Apple's CEO, asking, "Do you want to sell sugar water for the rest of your life, or do you want to come with me and change the world?" Then he expanded it more and invented Macintosh in 1984. It was success then he decided to leave the Apple II and concentrate more on Mac.

People described Jobs as an erratic and temperamental manager. That’s why Sculley relieved him. Then he built NeXT computer for few years. NeXT was bought by Apple and Jobs back to the Apple.

Since then, he keeps reinventing things, from iPod, iPhone, now iPad and so many others. Now that he’s aware of the social media like Facebook, Twitter, and so on, he announced the new social media network (for music) called Ping. It’s an iTunes applications that made us can share about what we’re listening to right now. Can follow and be followed by others. We can also post our thoughts and opinions, circle of friends and many others. And we can just buy a song only with one simple touch. We can share what music we're listening to through the network. When following an artist, we can be alerted to their concert listings.

Steve Jobs - Ping (the New Social Media Network)

“In iTunes 10 we introduce Ping. It’s a social network for music. It’s like Facebook and Twitter meets iTunes. Everything about music,” said Apple’s CEO, Steve Jobs.

Oakley

Another new trial

Hmm.. Actually I'm not that kind of guy who likes to write things.. but I guess I have to try it.. yeah, maybe just to improve my writing skills, and another thing is just I have another assignment that require each of the student to have a blog..

I guess I don't have to create another one (simply just this is not my first blog, I forget about my own old blog).. :P

Hoping I can improve this blog.. maybe I'll share some stories if I'm in the mood.. :D

see ya in my next posting.. :)

INDONESIA'S Education now and what will be...

Talking about Indonesia will never have an end. There are a lot of aspects that can be criticized. From the economic side, sport, government, tills the politic side. And talking about now and the future of Indonesia will also have no end. Why? Because people change, and that makes the other change as well. and by saying change, there are two possibilities. Change into something better or something worse. and people do hope that everything gonna turn out well.

So, try to talk about the general education in Indonesia. I think, the education in Indonesia is not really good. For the purpose of knowing the theories, Indonesia is not that bad, instead Indonesia is really good. It was seen from how many gold, silver, or bronze medal that Indonesia have won from many International Olympic. Whether mathematics, chemistry, physic, and other. But when we try to talk about the reality, how that theories become the base of what we do, Indonesia is kind of "suck". People tend to do everything based on what they know and what they want. that's why Indonesia is still left behind by other country. people can't imply the theory they knew to their real life.

Now, try to imagine how Indonesia will be in few years ahead? If Indonesia keeps on that ki8nd of track, indonesia will be left behind forever. But, if Indonesia wants to change how they think and how they act, Indonesia can beSo, after talking about the general education in Indonesia, let's move to the education system in Indonesia. Here, I don't talk about what the systems are, and or what the system will be. But it's more to how Indonesia deals with all the systems. the best country ever. It will lead Indonesia to become one of the best.

Indonesia change the education system several times recently. From "kurikulum 1994" to "KTSP" and whatsoever. The government thought that the system are not perfect, so they keep changing it. But, when they want to change it, they didn't think carefully about the next systems until they found out that something's wrong so they change the system again. And it impacts on the quality of the student. The quality of those who graduate will differ from one system to the other one, and it shows that Indonesia is unstable. Besides that, it can lead us into an opinion that Indonesia don't stand on any points. That's why a lot of company prefers those who graduate from outside Indonesia.

And so, what will happen to Indonesia keeps changing the system? It will make Indonesia really unstable, and the quality of those who graduate (young generation) will decrease from year to year. The result, Indonesia will become poorer, whereas the young generation is the only one who gonna keep this country to role. It's likely we give a big responsibility to they who don't have any capability with low qualifications. But, if Indonesia stops changing the system and make only one system permanently, apparently Indonesia will have a lot of benefits. The young generations with good qualifications will bring Indonesia to triumph, and it's not something impossible.

Therefore, come on guys. Let's fix this country. We are the young generations who will drive this country in the future. So, prepare ourselves with something useful. Don't waste our time. Cause we will make this country stable and achieve the best also bring this country to the triumph.

Moi Opinion

What do you think about national Exam??

Yup.. That's my Question...

And I'm gonna spill everything out about that national Exam (according to my opinion)

Hmm... For what I know, National Exam "launched" three years ago, also followed by a lot of controversies. Some agree and some disagree. Back when I was in Junior High, the national exam didn't scare me, cause it was only three subjects (Math, English, Bahasa Indonesia). And it weren't that difficult. But when I was in Senior High, suddenly the national exam became something "huge" and frightful. Because the national exam seemed the only thing that determined we graduate or not. Furthermore, the subjects in national exam aren't three anymore, but six (including biology, physic, and chemistry for science classes). Because all of those changes, many student failed so they can't graduate. And the only chance to graduate is to follow "Paket C' examination, and it's not good. Cause lots of people underestimate they who get "Paket C" certificate.

Now, forget what you've read..

Just take a look on what happen now.. Many people demonstrate to refuse national exam. Cause they thought that it's not fair if the national exam become the only standard to graduate. They also disagree with national exam because it makes a lot of people frustrated. Some just suicide cause they failed the national exam. And for that reason, the government decided that the national exam is not the only thing that determined we will graduate or not. But the school exam does take place too.

Actually, if I'm not mistaken, the national exam is not just the one thing that determined our graduation, but the school exam does to. So I think what the government did just restate what already done. It means that people aren't aware on what really happened. They just want things happened like what they want. They're just so narrow minded. And that's why I don't really like Indonesian people.

I wonder what will happen if there's no national exam anymore?? What will become the standard to graduate?? I don't think that Indonesia is ready to use their own school standard. Because the grade/standard on every school in every region is not the same. So how we deal with it? The purpose of the national exam is to standardize the grade, the score, and everything else. So at least, it can be objective.

I know that we can't only judge whether we qualified to graduate or not only from the national exam, but it's not something we can dodge easily. If we really want to cut it out from the national program, are you ready with the new idea? You want change the national exam with what and how? Cause we, Indonesia, is not ready yet to change the system like in the other country. Because the standardization it self in every school in every region is not the same. So how can we proceed? And the student's suggestion about teacher recommendations also determined whether we graduate or not is nonsense. Cause it will never be objective, on the other hand it will make more subjective. Before the conflict shows up between two schools or more, it will shows up inside every school. Why? Because it depends on how close you are with the teacher. So can you name it as objective??

Waoow... I think that's all for today...

For any incorrect tenses, I'm sorry.. Cause I did this in "warnet".. Miss my own internet in my own home...
